Both parents are seed-grown plants. The key point of interest for many people is the peristome on the upper pitchers, so here we are showing the best photos we currently have at the time of both parent plants. The male parent exhibits a classical peristome which is flared and does roll back somewhat as the pitcher matures. The female parent is somewhat less typical of the species, but still falls within the parameters of the description made by Ch’ien C. Lee, as the photo is of a mature pitcher after the peristome has rolled back.
It’s not yet known whether the upper pitchers of the various individuals that make up BE-4065 will vary much from those of the parents, but it’s going to be very interesting to find out.
